At MBBC, boys are given opportunities to join clubs, be part of leadership groups, compete in interschool competitions, enjoy camps and expeditions, be involved in community outreach programmes and mentor younger students – fully immersing themselves in the experience of College life. We also encourage talented students to apply for district, regional, state and national selection in their sport or cultural pursuit.
MBBC is famous for its adventure sports and outdoor programme. As well as offering overnight camps from Year 1, we offer a variety of adventure sports including sailing, a rock-climbing wall and one of Australia’s only on site, bushland, mountain bike tracks. MBBC enters teams in many local club-based associations and our athletes compete in the Christian Schools Sports Association (CSSA) in swimming, cross country and athletics.
In the cultural arena, the College is achieving a far-reaching reputation for its dramatic and musical productions. Music at The Moreton Bay Colleges is one of the most comprehensive programmes in Queensland. Founded on a two-year immersion programme in Years 4 and 5 where all students study an instrument of their choice, Music at the Colleges encompasses traditional Art music, contemporary and commercial styles, as well as music production. Our Power Family Concert Hall is the home of performance at the Moreton Bay Colleges, and as the centrepiece of the Music Centre provides a first class venue for our students to participate and perform in one or more of our twenty-three ensembles.
Those who prefer to expand other capacities have plenty of opportunities too in public speaking, debating, chess club, drama productions, robotics, mooting and Leo Club, to name just a few.
With so many options in both co-curricular and extra-curricular activities, every boy has a chance to develop and excel.
